Birthday Invitation Templates: 20+ Ready-to-Use Samples (2026)
Birthday invitation templates you can use as they are
Most invitation guides teach you how to write. This one hands you the finished thing. Every template below is a complete invitation — greeting, details, RSVP line — so you can copy it, swap the brackets for your own details and send it in under a minute.
If you would rather build the wording yourself from scratch, the full invitation wording guide walks through the structure. Here, the writing is already done.
Pick your format first
The same words work everywhere, but the format changes what you paste them into.
- A link. One page that holds the invitation, collects RSVPs and shows the wishlist. Best when you want to know the headcount without chasing people.
- A printable card or PDF. Best for children's parties handed out at school, or for milestone celebrations where a paper invitation is part of the occasion.
- A message. WhatsApp, SMS or email. Keep it short — the templates in the last section are written specifically for this.

Blank fill-in-the-blank template
Keep this one as your skeleton. Every complete invitation answers these seven lines:
[Who] is turning [age]! [One line about what the party is]
When: [day, date, start–end time] Where: [venue, full address, parking note] Dress: [code or theme, if any] RSVP: [contact] by [date] Gifts: [wishlist link, or "your presence is enough"]
Turning a template into an invitation you can send
Once the wording is set, you still need to deliver it. A designed invitation card takes the template above and puts it on a proper layout you can send as a link or download as a PDF for printing. The link version does something paper cannot: guests reply on the page, so your headcount updates itself instead of living in five different chat threads. If you want the replies to read well too, the RSVP wording guide has both sides of the conversation.
Adding a wishlist to the same page also quietly solves the gift question, without anyone having to ask.
Make the whole celebration one link
With Birthday Tools you can send a designed invitation, collect RSVPs, share a wishlist and keep a photo gallery and guest book for the memories — all from one link, in 14 languages. Starting is free, and the free tools work without an account.
FAQ
What should a birthday invitation include?
Seven things: whose birthday it is (and the age, for children and milestones), the date, the start time, the end time if pick-up matters, the full address, how and by when to reply, and a line about gifts if you have a preference. Everything else is tone.
How far in advance should I send birthday invitations?
Two to three weeks for a casual party, four to six weeks for a milestone birthday or anything involving a venue or travelling guests. For children's parties, aim for three weeks — school calendars fill up quickly.
Can I use these templates for a printed invitation?
Yes. Every template here is format-neutral — the same wording works on a printed card, a PDF and a digital invitation. For print, keep it to the seven lines in the blank template above; anything longer stops fitting comfortably on a card.
What's the difference between an invitation template and an invitation card?
A template is the wording. A card is the wording on a designed layout you can actually send — as a link, or as a PDF you print. Start with the template, then drop it into a card once the details are final.
